POLAND — John “Jack” Calabrese, 89, handed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at Hospice of the Valley Hospice Residence.
Jack was born Nov. 20, 1932, in Hillsville, Pa., a son of the late Patsy “Charles” and Clara Rocco Calabrese.
Elevated in Hillsville, Jack was a graduate of Bessemer Substantial College, Course of 1950. He attended Youngstown College and after just one semester went on to get his license from the Barber School of Pittsburgh. He was utilized as a barber at the Midlothian Barber Shop in Pittsburgh prior to enlisting in the Army in 1953. He served two a long time and was honorably discharged in 1955.
Immediately after returning to the area, Jack satisfied the love of his everyday living, the former Geraldine “Gerri” Leeson and they have been married May perhaps 11, 1957. As newlyweds, Jack and Gerri settled in Struthers and afterwards designed their dwelling in New Middletown, and at last, Poland. Jack owned and operated the Sportsmen Barber Store in Struthers and later the Razor’s Edge at the Southern Park Mall, from where he retired following 30 years of company.
