
One of the newest additions to Hilldale is a Levi’s store that sells jeans starting at around $80 a pair.
Fans of Levi’s jeans expecting to get a bargain at a new company store in Hilldale may want to stick to buying their jeans at Kohl’s, Farm & Fleet and Target.
The new Levi’s store features jeans that start at around $80 and is being billed as a place that “enhances and expands the customer’s experience.” In addition, the store offers tailoring services.
“The first step is finding the exact fit, silhouette and finish of Levi’s denim that you are looking for, which can be accomplished using our personal styling services,” the company said in a press release. “From there, you can work with a skilled Levi’s tailor to make sure the jeans fit exactly the way you want—whether that means simply cropping a hem or something more ambitious, like sizing up and then having them altered to create a stylishly oversized fit.”

Custom options for the brand, founded in 1873, include colored shank buttons and rivets, patches, pocket linings, chain stitching and embroidery.

Levi’s has opened a new store at Hilldale.
Levi began opened its first high-end store in Shanghai in 2020 and later that year opened a store in Palo Alto, California, followed by others in Los Angeles and Scottsdale, Arizona. The company has plans for 100 stores and is scheduled to open others this fall in Boston, San Diego, Miami and Nashville.

Oscar Rennebohm, who served as Wisconsin’s governor from 1947 to 1951, stands in the 1960s outside Hilldale Shopping Center, which he helped create. Rennebohm, also known for his drug stores, died in October 1968. He was 79.

The new location for Ulla Eyewear is across the street from the Apple store at Hilldale Shopping Center.

A section of the south end of the Hilldale Shopping Center is being removed to make way for an open space, new store fronts and pedestrian walkways. The project comes less than two years after the indoor portion on the north side of the shopping center was removed to create a more open shopping experience.

The south side of Hilldale Shopping Center is being targeted for redevelopment between Macy’s and Sundance Cinemas.
The Great Dane Pub & Brewing Company will open its four Madison locations, including Hilldale, 357 Price Place, 608-661-9400. Hilldale’s buffet features “Thanksgiving standards and time-tested favorites,” and runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The last seating is at 3:30 p.m. Adults are $24.95, kids ages 5 to 12 are $9.95, and children 4 and under are free. Reservations are recommended.
The restaurant is also serving a la carte turkey dinners from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. The cost is $15.95 for adults and $8.95 for kids. A limited late-night menu will be available between 4 p.m. and midnight.
Bogie’s, 736 N. Midvale Blvd., was a night club at the Hilldale Shopping Center. Over the years, it housed a variety of businesses, including Mingles Lounge, Mendota Beach Club, China International Gourmet, Hoffman House, Green Frog and the Game Preserve. A $15 million redevelopment that creates more outdoor pedestrian walkways and storefronts at Hilldale Shopping Center is scheduled to be completed by August. The space will include both new and longtime tenants of the West Side mall at Midvale Boulevard and University Avenue.
